Qualifications

  • Problem-solving: Ability to quickly assess situations and provide effective solutions, particularly when dealing with claims.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all policy information, claims, and documents are accurate and complete.

  • Customer Service: Experience in customer-facing roles and a genuine desire to help people.

  • Knowledge of P&C Insurance: Familiarity with the types of coverage available (e.g., homeowners, auto, liability, etc.) and the processes involved in claims handling and policy administration.

Responsibilities

Customer Support:

  • Responding to customer inquiries about property and casualty insurance policies, claims, and coverage details.

  • Providing clear explanations of insurance products, policy terms, and conditions.

  • Assisting customers in understanding their premium rates, deductibles, and coverage limits.

Claims Assistance:

  • Guiding customers through the claims process, helping them file claims for property damage or accidents.

  • Assisting in the documentation required for claims, such as photographs, police reports, or repair estimates.

  • Communicating with adjusters or claims processors on behalf of customers.

Policy Modifications:

  • Helping customers update their policies, such as adding or removing coverage, changing beneficiaries, or adjusting coverage limits.

  • Advising on options for adding riders, endorsements, or making changes based on life events (e.g., home renovations, vehicle purchases).

Problem Resolution:

  • Addressing any issues or concerns customers have regarding claims, billing discrepancies, or customer service.

  • Escalating complex cases to supervisors or specialized departments if necessary.

Sales and Cross-Selling:

  • Identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional coverage or policies that may benefit the customer, such as renters insurance or umbrella policies.

  • Educating customers about discounts they may qualify for, like bundling home and auto insurance.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Processing policy renewals and ensuring customers are reminded of upcoming payments or changes.

  • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and updates to their policies.
